Outer Harbour Sailing Federation (OHSF)
Located near Cherry Beach, Toronto’s OHSF is a not-for-profit, volunteer-led organization that champions equitable, low-impact public access to the waterfront. Representing nearly 2,000 members across eight cooperative sailing clubs and two camps, OHSF helps deliver safe, inclusive, and affordable opportunities for sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, and more.
We offer public-friendly programming through low-cost or free memberships, social memberships for non-sailors, and “learn to sail” programs that include seasonal access to boats. Our clubs host open house days, public social events, and participate in Doors Open Toronto. Our guest policies and cooperative model encourage shared access to the waterfront while keeping barriers low.
Some clubs also provide personal watercraft storage for paddleboards, canoes, and kayaks. Our No Fare youth sailing camp offers free summer instruction for underserved children—unique on the Toronto waterfront. Sailing is inherently ecologically responsible, and our CanSail-certified programming ensures safety and skill-building for all ages and experience levels.
As a community-run federation, OHSF serves more people per boat than traditional models—maximizing shared use of public space. We are proud to be active stewards of a safe, healthy, and inclusive waterfront for all Torontonians.
Sailing & Windsurfing Camps
The OHSF is committed to developing the potential of youth through lessons in a fun and safe environment for ages 6 to 17. Certified instructors teach skills while building teamwork, friendships, confidence and self-esteem.
