Photo Recap: OHSF Club Crawl 2025 Was a Party of Pirates!

On Saturday, May 31, the clubs in the Outer Harbour came alive with food, music, and swashbuckling fun! Dressed in pirate-tropical flair, members crawled from club to club, raising funds for the OHSF Jr Sailing Camp. The final tally is coming in, but the fundraising total is looking good. The Outer Harbour of Toronto was developed in the 1950s and 1960s by the Toronto Harbour Commission through the construction of a new breakwater called the Outer Harbour East Headland aka Leslie Street Spit (Tommy Thompson Park). At that time, there was expected to be a great upswing in the number of ships calling at Toronto once the Saint Lawrence Seaway opened. However, the need for an extra harbour never materialized, perhaps partly due to the shipping container revolution in the 1960s.
